i want to focus a bit on graphic artists. i love to draw. i draw for my tote stencils. and i want to do more. i follow quite a few artists on Flickr. one of my very favourites is mthw. i don’t know his real name. though i didn’t ask, only his permission to blog him, maybe i don’t want to know. he won’t tell me what specific elements of his drawings mean. [he calls them doodles.] all i know is that they speak [or maybe battle it out] in a math of the visual language i grew up with and am still made of. they are like an uncensored behind the scenes of every tv show / cartoon / video game i know. or when i discovered The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss, and thought “ooooh, he was daaaaark”. or when i found out the children’s book author & illustrator Shel Silverstein [Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Giving Tree] was a frequent contributor to Playboy.
