i mentioned i would do this blog regarding sustainability and my present situation with my materials. i make my totes from natural fabrics. i use deadstock/overstock as much as possible. i create strong, quality goods. i want the designs and the strength of the bag to last, another very important aspect of sustainabililty of course. i used to use thrifted fabric. i sadly couldn’t sustain me running my company that way because i spent most of my time looking for the fabric. so i am in the process of upgrading to organic as soon as i can. a bit of an undertaking. i have a friend who is in currently in Bali who is bringing me fabric samples from India. i am excited about that. finding heavy organic materials suitable to these totes is a challenge. so that is where SWANclothing is at with all that!
