~the Big Bruiser~
23 August 2006
it’s always slow for me to come up with a new pattern. but the Big Bruiser she is coming along…

i’ve been obsessed with making a tote from [thrifted] grey sweatshirt fabric since i started this. so here is beginning of the 1st one. contrasted with thick grey corduroy [thrifted] & lined in black pinstriped cotton [from my mother’s stash]. and check out that elastic [new], it’s huge! and gorgeous i think too.
grey sweatshirts are like jeans or tweed or black leather to me. classic, modern, sweet & tough too. and they all work together. i also kept it big & with an 80s shape to it.

my sister reminded me that the wood rings were better for summer… so! i am using a BIG ‘bronze’ metal ring [new] for fall. these can also double as knuckledusters in a pinch.
