i’ve posted a shop talk before. shop talk is shallow and totally fascinating to me. and i don’t mean talk about your particular trade. i mean when people are shopping and they talk about shopping. i hear such amazingly materialistic things. and even though i am not completely down with the program i can still enjoy eavesdropping on those who are.

so the latest. 3 girls at the counter of a shoe store. 2 of them look like sisters.

girl 1 at the counter making a shoe purchase- i just buy, buy, buy. i never wear most of them. just buy, buy, buy.

girl 2- i wish i had a shoe closet.

girl 3- my boyfriend just got me a pair for my birthday and a wallet.

girl 2 [slightly unimpressed]- a wallet?

girl 1- ya but that wallet is like 200 bills.

it’s nothing really. just a frozen moment.

and what was i doing at that counter besides eavesdropping? uh, buying shoes. little black patent leather mary jane ballet flats. i’m gonna wear those things to death!
