I love Kirsten Stiles silver bunny pin.

I like bunnies, a.k.a. rabbits, that are cute and sweet but I like earthy character too. This piece certainly has that, as do her monkey earrings.

Both these pieces are cast silver and Kirsten is a blacksmith. Here is a quote from her Knitsteel Etsy store intro- “Yes, I really am a Blacksmith! I design and forge ironwork and bronze pieces, everything from small jewelry to 30 plus feet of railing. I use forges, torches, welders, and other pieces of noisy power equipment, but my hand hammers are still my favorite and most useful toys. I mean tools.” I love how the work looks weighted, so organic and one-of-a-kind, even if some of the pieces aren’t.

There are great photos on Kirsten’s Wrought and Fraught blog of her working in her studio. And also suggestions as to how to let your kids take over at cake decorating since she isn’t partial to it. I really don’t know how to express how happy this combination of metalwork and overdecorated pink cakes on one blog makes me :)
