it's about time there were some men in this blog...
30 October 2007
since my wardrobe is presently so heavily influenced by menswear. since i love the vocabulary men have created within what is still a limited range of choices. since i love the sartorial arguments about tie and collar widths, appropriate numbers of suit buttons and how much cuff to pop etc… and don’t find them trivial at all. since i love the traditionally more masculine fabrics & prints- tweeds, anything utilitarian, denim, pinstripes…
and then watch as some men, fluent in this language, can throw outfits together with what looks like total disregard for all this information and still get it exactly right. balanced & playful. for example…
lewis.samuel‘s neverending wardrobe_remix jumpathon is a channel i am always tuned to. i WANT his scarf, shoe AND bag collection!

and flo & basti’s [boyfriend & friend of my Flickr friend helloalena and this photo is taken by her] perfect daytrip outfits which compliment not only the wearers but eachother.

though things do sometimes get out of hand.
more menswear soon…
The Clothes Horse- I love when men dress a bit. But I love casual dress-up a lot too. And Ambika- isn’t he wonderful?

The man in the last photo on the right—I am freaking out a bit at how astonishly handsome his outfit makes him. Why aren’t all young men so dapper these days?!
