Fruit & Birds Louche progress
6 July 2006
this week has been really hard but in many ways really um fruitful. sorry. this bag has been tricky to make. even though all the purses are somewhat similar, they aren’t. each fabric has its quirks and limitations. often they are size limitations and trying to find the imagery i want to highlight within that. it’s nice if i can let everything breath. lots of fabric and allowing the print to run through it like a river. i wish…

[DREAM- okay this is really odd but i had a dream last night that sort of incorporated the print on this. i was in a room. it was huge and empty and victorian looking. one wall had floor to ceiling windows. a line of narrow ones on hinges. someone had built an artificial tree that “grew” through the window. in the room was that artist Cristo, you know the man who wraps mountains in fabric. he was being very self centered and spoke on about himself. i opened the window and all these animals which weren’t visible before poured out of the tree and through the window. like poured, like a backwards arc, a whole forest of them-birds, raccoons, foxes… then these odd “adventurer” types marched through the window. all high stepping and stiff upper lipped. wierdos.]
